Tea Party

 I am so so so in love with this beautiful all while tea party! I think life should have more fancy tea parties, no? How very sweet would this be for a shower of some sort? (Bridal? Baby? PhD finishing... do people have Dr Showers?) Well they should. Oh dear bestie, I am getting some ideas. Better finish that thesis quick!

Happy weekend everyone. I am headed up to cottage country for a weekend of relaxation and reading. Or fun and parties and mojitos. Or some combination of the two. I hope you all rejuvenate and enjoy your summer weekend!

Home Bar

Had a discussion Monday night about the home bar. I'm one of those compulsive people who likes to make lists, and complete lists. Of course I need my home bar to be "complete". In my mind, I should have a little bit of everything on hand so that should someone stop by I will be able to provide their drink of choice. Bombay Gin for my bestie from Ottawa, for example. The boy, however feels that a wide selection of good alcohols will just increase the instances of drinking (something neither of us patio loves needs right now).

What is a must in your ideal bar? Do you actually manage to keep it around long enough to offer it out?

Shade for your drinks

How cute and festive are these little cocktail umbrellas? What a great way to kick your entertaining up a notch. And at 10 for only $5 they are certainly affordable. This weekend will include a mardi gras themed birthday party for the boy, watching the world cup final, sleeping in, and hopefully some dim sum. The weather is hot hot hot, meaning it's more fun being outside my apartment than inside it. Anyone want to join me for a salad on my porch?

Party Time

Power Ball Tonight! I'm excited, and hopping like a little bunny. Hope it's as much fun as I think it will be...there will probably be a lot of frolicking like in the picture above. Open bar? Check? Wonderful company? Check. And as for what to wear... maybe I'll post my final choice (I don't even know myself!). (Also, thanks go out to my fella for subsidizing my ticket.)

I enjoy throwing parties. Hell. I LOVE throwing parties. (Just as much as I love attending them.) And the blog Sunday Suppers always inspires me to entertain. Classic and beautiful, these are the type of parties I aspire to one day include in my repertoire. I don't think I'll ever give up my ruckus-y house/dance parties, but it would be nice to have a dinner party again. If you have a chance, look at the beautiful photograph, and recipes included in the blog.

(However when it comes to throwing parties THIS GIRL puts me to shame.)
