Tobias Chair

I've been dreaming about redecorating (or... really, just decorating, as I never really did when I moved in TWO years ago... shameful)

I was this brilliant post by Toronto blogger Jacquelyn of Lark and Linen, and I found myself captivated by the lucite chair she posted. I clicked on the link and found that it was an Ikea chair. Well, that's right in my budget (which is limited). It's modern, and I've been loving lucite for awhile. What do you think?

Home Inspiration: Jean Allsopp Interiors

My favourite home style at this point is "white and bright". For me this equals a touch of Swedish/Scandinavian charm, a touch of minimalism, a touch of exoticism, and a touch of elegance. I've just returned from a trip to NYC, and have been back for about three week from a month long journy through Asia. My apartment has suffered while I've been gone, with my suitcase often sitting in the living room at various stages of half-unpacked. (At least I remembered to take out the garbage and compost before I left!)

Time to clean up. I often inspire myself to get cleaning with shots of how I want my place to look (eventually). This brings me to these fantastic interior shots by photographer Jean Allsopp from Alabama. Love them. This weekend it's time to put on the Jay Z and let's whip this place into shape!

Sunday Home Tour: West Village Charm

I can't believe how long it has taken me to share this adorable space with you! It's 650 sq. feet, which isn't that big (but as a Toronto apartment dweller isn't that small either). It has a wonderful mix of aesthetic influences, and combines a few of my favourite things such as bar trays, and expedit shelving. Homey but chic, clean and comfortable. Love it.

Sunday Home Tour: Toronto Annex Home

Love this house in my current neighbourhood (The Annex) in Toronto. It's only 2 million. I can probably afford this? Right?
5 bedrooms
6 bathrooms
3 fireplaces

I love it.

West Elm Stripe Shower Curtain

Remember how I loved (and bought) these sheets? And this tumbler? Well, West Elm currently has a sale on Bed and Bath products, and guess which one I fell for? You got it, the grey striped one! Love it! Oh, and the shower curtain, $33 Canadian. (And the tumbler is down to $6, so you might want to pick that up too.)

Home Is Where Your Heart Is

So glad to be back home! Don't get me wrong, Hawaii was amazing, and I'll be posting some pictures and reviews soon, but there is something so nice about coming home to your own bed, and your own kitchen! I do love to travel, but I also love coming home almost as much.

Christmas Wreaths

Christmas time is here at last! I'm finally home from my 5 cities in 3 provinces in 7 days trip! Now that I'm home I'm very excited to deck my new apartment out in a little bit of holiday finery. Tonight I'm cooking up a seafood stew, and hope to put the finishing touches on my holiday pennant garland. I'm also thinking that the apartment needs a wreath. I love the look of these wreaths from Eco Chic NYC. Can't wait to have the smell of pine in my apartment!

Magisso White Teacup

How beautiful are these loose leaf tea mugs? What a beautiful simple gift. Paired with a little bag of tea it would make a perfect holiday gift!

Black Widow Wine Glasses

Happy Almost Halloween!
This week has been whirlwind busy with midterms and work projects and events coming up and I haven't had any time to work on my Halloween costume! I'll have to pull something together last minute. (Something fantastic! Crappy costumes are not an option.)Until then birthday party tonight, working all day tomorrow, Halloween festivities Saturday night, and Sunday a vegan dim sum birthday brunch. And then I sleep, right?

West Elm Modern Stripe Tumbler

I've been having a love affair with grey recently. I painted my new bedroom a soft shade of grey, and I have been lusting over these gray sheets (my obsession with stripes is nothing new). So when I saw this tumbler at West Elm, I had to show you. It's much prettier than the toothbrush holder I have now, and it would add an elegance to my bathroom. (Also maybe for makeup brushes on my vanity?)

Also, West Elm is advertising them online for $8.38. Now that's a good price!

Sunday Home Tour: California Ladies

Well, I have not been super good about posting regularly this month, have I? Well, everyone has to fall off the bandwagon sometime, and what with my apartment move last month, going out of town, cottaging, having drinks on patios, and you know, working, it's just been a busy whirl wind! But now that it's heading towards fall (it's not here yet!) I'm going to try and get back in the inspiration groove! I'm also going to try and include more "original content", but since I am not a great photographer, we will see how that goes. Anyway, for those still reading, thanks for sticking with! Hopefully more bright smiles will come your way!

Oh yeah, and check out this sweet apartment featured on Apartment Therapy! I love seeing homes of roomies, because that's sort of how I still live. I'm not in the grown up housing situation yet. Also, I like to see how two people's different styles are expressed in one space. Lovely.

Hanging Art (With Hangers!)

What a fantastic idea! Very cheap, and easy to switch the art up. And I also have a bunch of pant hangers from Ikea hanging around since my closet is too small to hang up all my clothes (sad face). Way to make the most out of a negative situation.
