Word To Your Mother

A single word can say so much, while the lack of words also sends a message, no? Letter writing is a lost art as my bestie Emmy and I were discussing during our date Monday night. Don't let people believe that you don't care about them. Take the time to write them a letter!

They Call Me Mellow Yellow

I think I'm automatically attracted to a clean white bedroom, but in this case I love the use of the bright yellow. What a wonderful cheery way to wake up!

Chuck

I love that I can wear sneakers to work.
These are what I am wearing RIGHT NOW. I love these shoes, even if my dark jeans are starting to dye the yellow. They are classics, but the yellow give them a real POP.

P.S. They are on sale right now. Just saying.

How To Wear A Skirt

Daniel My Brother You Are... Taller Than Me

My little brother is a wicked musician. That kid can play anything. (Except the clarinet... he dropped that the first day.) He is also growing up so fast. And by that I mean he now weighs at least 50 pounds more than me and is at least 7 inches taller than me. Sigh. I remember when he was just a little pipsqueak.

Point being. The kid needs a new cool wardrobe. 17 is an important age as Zac Efron has shown us. I saw this shirt and I think he needs it. If I were a musician I would wear this shirt.
Christmas IS coming!

Ginger Lives Here

Who is Ginger? What happened to James, Billy, Jimmy and Darcy? Well, I'm clearly out of the Smashing Pumpkins loop, even though, theirs was the first CD I ever bought.
Whoever Ginger is, I like what she's done with her loft.

What I Had For Dinner Last Night - Lemon Olive Chicken

2 pints of grape tomatoes
3-4 zucchini
1 cup of black and green olives
Zest of one lemon
Juice of half a lemon
3 tbsp of capers (preferable salt packed)
Olive oil
2-3 tsps of dried thyme
8 chicken thighs
Salt and pepper

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
Mix all the ingredients (except the chicken) in a glass or ceramic dish. Get your hands nice and oily. Throw the chicken on top of the veggies skin side down, season, and pop in the oven for about 15 minutes. Give the dish a stir and flip over the chicken. Season again. Continue to bake for another 20-30 minutes. Close to the end, get impatient, sit on the floor in front of the oven and watch the skin get lovely and brown. (It was late, I was hungry and just a little bit drunk).

This creates lots of lovely saucy goodness as the cherry tomatoes bake down, so would be really nice served over top of a fresh flat pasta, with some baby potatoes, or with a fresh baguette to soak up the juices.

Mmmmm. I promise.

Tiffany Was The Name Of My First Cat

I almost never by jewelery. Despite the fact that I love beautiful things, I simply cannot seem to reconcile my small pay check with the large purchase price for such a tiny little box. And name brands? Not my thing. That being said, the beauty of this stuff is undeniable, but I'd be just as likely to lust over it if it weren't Tiffany. In fact, if it weren't Tiffany, maybe I could actually afford it! Now, If I WERE the type to buy jewelery, one of these necklaces would be my next purchase. Simple, but eye catching.

It's the small touches that count.

Coffee Snuggy

I want.
It doesn't feel like fall yet, but it's coming. Soon. This is Canada afterall, and before I can blink the leaves will be changing and the wind will be picking up, and I'll be pulling my cashmere out from under my bed, and taking my sundresses out of my closet. But, fall is wonderful. Any excuse to be cozy.
