Judy Garland

Merry Christmas Eve!
Tonight the dinner will be Tourtière (French Canadian tradition), the candles will be lit, and the wine will be drunk, all in anticipation for CHRISTMAS! I will finish wrapping, do some baking (and some laundry), and then head over for family time. I can't wait! (Even though the big day is tomorrow, today is all lead up, which I like!)

Christmas Wreaths

Christmas time is here at last! I'm finally home from my 5 cities in 3 provinces in 7 days trip! Now that I'm home I'm very excited to deck my new apartment out in a little bit of holiday finery. Tonight I'm cooking up a seafood stew, and hope to put the finishing touches on my holiday pennant garland. I'm also thinking that the apartment needs a wreath. I love the look of these wreaths from Eco Chic NYC. Can't wait to have the smell of pine in my apartment!

Modern Manly Christmas

Another apartment christmas tree. Can you tell I'm sad I live in an apartment and don't have space for a real, live tree? But if you're going to make do, make it stylish! I love this modern take on what I would call a Condo Christmas. All of the spirit and style, with much less space.

Homemade ornaments

How cute is this mini tree with homemade cookie cutter ornaments? Perfect for an apartment or small space. Great craft project as well!

Christmas Baking

Two weeks until Christmas! Christmas time always makes me think of homemade cookies. My mom always bakes Christmas cookies, and for the past few years has done a cookie exchange allowing me to go home and eat an even LARGER variety of cookies. Mmm. Miss. Piggy you say? Only a little.

New York City Christmas

Happy Weekend all! I'm headed to New York City for a long weekend with the boy. Can't wait to soak up some of that holiday spirit (and get a few faboo gifts while I'm at it)! I'm hoping for ice skating, some hand holding, a romantic and delicious meal (or two), catching up with some friends from undergrad, and shopping, shopping, shopping!
I'm gone for a few days, but I've got some posts lined up, so never you fear. It's (sort of) almost Christmas!

It's A Wonderful Life

Every year my mother and I watch this movie on Christmas Eve. Every year I cry.
This year I'm not at home, and this tradition is one that we will have to skip. I looked for the movie before I left, but couldn't find it. And although I love traditions, this year we are making new traditions. This is my first Christmas not at home. But I am with my family (more family than usual), and it's lovely. Instead we are following another tradition. This year we are watching Love Actually. It appeals to my romantic nature.
Happy Almost Christmas.
